Just shy of a carat, this oval-cut spinel is from Tanzania. Finds in the last decade or two of Tanzanian spinel have redefined the species, especially pink and red gemstones from Mahenge, but small finds of less common colors, like this denim-blue example, have also been discovered in contemporary mining projects. No treatment.
