This is a beautiful strong red colored Pyrope Garnet gem from an undisclosed locality in Tanzania. Pyrope is not a variety of Garnet, it's truly its own species, and is one of the few species that is only found in one color (in this case, red). This stone has a "Round Brilliant" cut with excellent internal clarity.
