All About Gemline
I started collecting at a young age when the Himalaya Mine in San Diego allowed rockhounds to collect from the tailings in the 1980's. I took a long hiatus from collecting when I joined the United States Navy and spent ten years in the submarine service. After an honorable discharge for my service, I picked up my hobby again throughout my post Navy career in aerospace, defense and maritime industries, collecting minerals and gemstones in the field and from purchasing at trade shows and dealer stores. Now that I have a family, I can share the passion with my wife and son, as well as other rockhounds and collectors. Today, I offer a wide selection of great quality minerals and gemstones for those interested in beginning or continuing to build their collections. I also offer travel advice and tips for those rockhounds wanting to visit the tourmaline mines in Pala, CA and the sunstone mines in Plush, OR.
